Utubaa Women Entrepreneurship is OSl's short-term projects. This project is designed to assist and empower a few business-minded Oromo women with an entrepreneurial spirit in Oromia. The project is geared towards displaced Oromo women who do not have the resources to start or expand their business idea. This can help shape sustainable income sources for them and their families. OSI will facilitate the application process, which includes assessing needs, skills, and goals. The entrepreneurs are expected to present their business plan and intentions of how they pay back the seed fund. Acceptable methods include providing peer coaching and guidance to future nominees, networking with other entrepreneurs in their respective communities, and paying back the seed funds when possible.
OSI V-Konnect Mentorship
OSI V-Konnect is a virtual mentorship program and is one of the new initiatives for the next project year. This program is two-fold. It is designed for Oromo individuals (especially women) eager to build leadership skills and knowledge of Qabsoo Bilisummaa Oromoo (QBO) / the struggle of the Oromo people from experienced mentors.
OSI - Refugee Settlement Services
This is one of the latest initiatives by OSI. As the number of refugees is increasing, so are the needs for settlement services. Referral to settlement resources and services is crucial because it connects newcomers with the necessary support systems to help them integrate into their new communities successfully. By providing guidance individuals can navigate the complexities of their new environment more effectively and accelerate their adjustment process.
